It was someone from London who told me that the United States was the last place to flee socialism.  The USA was the last place of refuge.

Reading a Swedish blog last night, these sentences hit me.

Mellanmjölken land hette det visst, Sverige. Ett land där alla anses oförmögna att förstå sitt eget bästa och där det enda som kan läggas ut på entreprenad är beslutsfattandet i hemmen.

In brief, the writer is lamenting about how the government thinks it understands better than the everyone what is best for families.  What the writer expresses is a complaint heard on the streets, in friends houses, at coffee shops, and everywhere except in the halls of the bleached bone buildings in Washington D.C.

Freedom in the US has slipped from the Natural Rights expressed by Ths. Jefferson and the liberation from the "tyranny of the majority" and crown enshrined in the Constitution to the tepid dictatorships scattered all over East and West Europe.  That makes me quake.

An addendum:  If people are incapable of making good decisions, and the state is nothing but a collection of people, how can the state make better decisions?  There is no paradox here.  The state can't make better decisions than 'the people.'  That is why socialism/communism/mixed economies/dictatorships/tyrannies/or any other centralist government do not work.

War is peace. Peace is war.

warmonger obama

Obama is a blood thirsty war-monger with a Nobel Peace Prize? WTF?
1 Obama wants to add 100,000 new troops to the U.S. military
2 Obama wants to expand the war to Pakistan and Central Africa countries like Sudan. Watch out Waziristan!
3 Guantanamo Bay is still an immoral prison camp. Prison camps in Bagram and the "Salt Pit" receive prisoners beyond the light of the Red Cross and laws compatible with "a free society." These include renditions and assassinations
4 Obama is responsible for at least 2 million displaced Pakistanis
5 Most civilian casualties are the result of aerial bombing including death by US owned remotely piloted vehicles.
6 Obama continues the baseless rhetoric about Iran's NONEXISTENT nuclear program. See Antiwar.com for details about why Iran is not going to be able to build "the bomb" any time soon.
7 The Tribunal Process continues with Obama's support. That is the process which strips prisoners of war of their God given Natural Rights.
8 A total of 1,500 civilians died in Afghanistan from January through August 2009 as a result of the occupation.
9 In all there are at least 737 FOREIGN military bases under Obama's command. There are 2639 domestic bases.
9.1 Obama (as Commander in Chief) occupies territory in: Australia Afghanistan Cuba Djibouti Iraq Kuwait Diego Garcia Spain Bahrain Greece Bulgaria Germany Greenland Guam Italy Japan South Korea Kyrgyzstan The Netherlands Portugal Philippines Spain Turkey United Kingdom
10 Obama continues to escalate war in the middle east. He calls for continued funding not immediate halt to funding.

A highly distasteful photo.

For everyone who went to government schools, Heinrich Himler was the NAZI who ordered the rather nasty experimentation on prisoners during World War II.

This clinic was seen driving along a rural highway in the middle of nowhere.  It is in a microscopic town in the middle of nowhere.  I went, "Hmm.  That's interesting."

Total Coalition Dead in Iraq and Afghanistan

According to the left, the war ended with the election of Obama.  Coalition deaths are as high as they were in mid 2007.  Yet another Obama failure.

Why Nancy Pelosi is a NAZI and I'm not. Part 2 (Points 10-20)

A continuation of part 1.

Democratic
Left/Pelosi
Classical Liberal
/Libertarian
Plank of the NAZI party platform and how it resembles Pelosi's left wing
YesNo11. "Abolition of unearned (work and labour) incomes. Breaking of rent-slavery." The agenda favored by Pelosi and the American left prohibit the efficient distribution of goods and services based on price. Instead the left imposes price ceilings and floors, supports high taxes on investment income, screams for progressive income taxes, and scrambles to regulate economic activity.
???No12. "...we demand the total confiscation of all war profits" Who knows, but we can say that military contractors under the Obama administration seem to be healthy. Since the Axiom of Non-aggression is the centerpiece of a libertarian administration, there will be few opportunities to profit from government sanctioned murder.
YesNo13. "We demand the nationalization of all associated industries." The American left adores nationalization of industry.
YesNo14. "We demand a division of profits of all heavy industries." - The progressive income tax created and persistently pushed by the American left is such a program. The use of Pelosi's term astroturf is an example of the contempt the American left has for productive firms who produce goods and services to satisfy customers.
YesNo15. "We demand an expansion on a large scale of old age welfare." Clearly this is a major platform of Pelosi's ideals and those of the Democrat left.
YesNo16. "...immediate communalization of the great warehouses and their being leased at low cost to small firms, the utmost consideration of all small firms in contracts with the State, county or municipality." - The left pushes "industrial policy" and the close partnerships between private firms and government officials. This is not the free market, and this pseudo private economy can not distribute goods and services in an efficient manner. Green industries pushed by the current president and legislature create contracts which enrich their preferred industries. We can be assured that campaign contributions helped ease the division about which firms are preferred.
YesNo17. "...free expropriation of land for the purposes of public utility, abolition of taxes on land and prevention of all speculation in land." The Pelosi left regularly takes land for government purposes and snidely opposes speculation of not just land but nearly every other scarce good.
YesNo18. "We demand struggle without consideration against those whose activity is injurious to the general interest." The democrat left led by characters like Nancy Pelosi think they have a grasp on what the general interest is without understanding that the nation is nothing but a group of people who have the coincidence of currently standing on the same landmass. Further, each individual has totally subjective tastes and preferences. There is no such thing as the general interest. Pelosi, in her arrogance, thinks her policies are perfectly right and applicable to all.
YesNo19. "We demand substitution of a German common law in place of the Roman Law serving a materialistic world-order." Pelosi's congress and her agenda clearly suggest an opposition to the long standing inheritance of natural law.
YesNo20. "The state is to be responsible for a fundamental reconstruction of our whole national education program...The comprehension of the concept of the State must be striven for by the school...demand the education at the expense of the State..." The democrat left which Pelosi leads nationalized education, expropriates private funds for its bureaucracy, and seeks to control the curriculum with state sanctioned propaganda to instill the love of big government into American youth.
